How do you brand a country?

Inspired by the FORFEST festival, where I've listened to amazing people and learned so much, I just have to share these 2+1 videos with you all.
There will be more on How to brand a country and position it on the tourism market, but for now NTO Croatia  and NTO Serbia made me feel so much of what these countries really are. Since Montenegro was once part of SFRJ (google it), and since we are neighbors, once brothers - we have a lot in common. Take your time, they produced long videos but they captured the essence of Balkan.

Magdalena international festival of communications!





What?

Magdalena is a non-profit festival of creativity, organized and managed by young people for the young people. It was established in 1999 as a response to expensive and formal advertising festivals, and soon focused on creative manifestations of public communication and took more critical stand toward irresponsible practices in this field.

The festival is a three-day event taking place in Maribor (Slovenia) in May every year, widely known by good organization, interesting guests and its informal spirit. Low fees for entry registration and attendance to festival lectures and parties guarantee access to most young people who wish to share their creativity with wider audience or see the work of their fellow designers. More than 5,000 visitors and 6,000 entries presented in last thirteen years show that young creative generation needs a place where they can compete, socialize and exchange experience and ideas. 
 The three main aspects of Magdalena are: competition education networking 
In ten years, Magdalena has also become an important reference and meeting point for those who seek their future in the world of design, advertising, media and other fields of public communication.


Who?

Competition is usually open to all authors of 30 years or younger, but this year we will make an exception, and open the competition also for 31-year olds, because the festival did not happen last year and they couldn't submit their works - so to all who were born later than 17. May 1981. If entry was created by more than one person, all the authors must have been born after this date. Each submission must be accompanied by a photocopy or scan of a legal document with clearly visible birth date for all authors in question. People in supporting roles (mentors, project managers, authors of music, etc.) are not subject to this rule. 
The Entry must be created to promote ideas, people, brands, products or services. Entries may have been commissioned or not, published or not, rejected by the client or designed specially for the festival. Actual publication or implementation of an idea is not required. Entries that were submitted to either of the previous Magdalena festivals can not take part in the competition. Entries of anonymous or unknown authors are not eligible. The organizer may use submitted entries for the promotion of the festival. The competition is open to authors worldwide. There are no limitations for personal participation to the festival.


When?

6 April 2012: Entries open!
18 April 2012: Early birds deadline (entry submission fee 25 €, after that date 40 €)
25 April 2012: Final deadline for entry submissions We recommend that you don't wait until the last minute for submissions. What if your boyfriend starts serenading under your window and you won't be able to finish your submission or if you're in the mountains where the internet connection by your surprise doesn't work.
4 May 2012: Final deadline for delivering entries to the festival office and payment
10 May 2012: Early personal participation deadline (registration fee 20 €, after that 25 €)
17-20 May 2012: Magdalena festival
19 May 2012: Awards Ceremony

Coca Cola Summer Job 2012

Fourth consecutive year of collaboration on the project, and this year we've stepped it up a bit. Following three animations during last years, this time we decided to mix it up with a video. Bored with your regular full/part time job? Ready for something new this summer? This is the opportunity for you. As usual - we had fun designing the whole identity for this year's campaign. @Bada did the logo and we both produced the following print and video materials:


And as far as the commercials go, we produced two versions of your dull day jobs you should ditch and switch to fun summer jobs.
